Salvador Perez named to 2016 All-Star Game

Perez was the leading vote-getter in the MLB fan voting, receiving 4,965,838 votes, becoming the third Royal to lead the American League in most votes received, joining George Brett in 1981 and Bo Jackson in 1989. He posted a .283 batting average while belting 14 home runs, setting the pace for American League catchers in both categories. Perez has continued his Gold Glove defense from last year, throwing out 26 runners with a fielding percentage of .995. This was Perez’s fourth time being selected to the American League All-Star team and his second time selected by the fans as the starting catcher.
