Hunter Pence No Kid Hungry

Hunter Pence’s Fundraiser is a Home Run for No Kid Hungry

San Francisco Giants outfielder, Hunter Pence, announced his pledge to support No Kid Hungry, a national campaign of the anti-hunger organization Share Our Strength, which connects children in need with healthy food. Pence will make a personal donation of $1,000 for every home run he hits during the 2018 regular season, which will provide 10,000 meals to children in Northern California. Fans can join him in providing meals for thousands of children struggling with hunger by making a pledge of their own for a chance to win exclusive prizes at pledgeit.org/hunter-pence.

Proceeds from the campaign will help No Kid Hungry connect more kids facing hunger to the food they need through programs like school breakfast and summer meals, and classes that teach families to cook healthy, affordable food at home. Just $10 is enough to provide 100 meals for kids in need.

“I am excited for the opportunity to support No Kid Hungry this season with every home run I hit,” said Pence. “This gives my performance added purpose knowing that it’s not just helping my team but also helping feed children.”

Hunter Pence and his wife Alexis, recently joined No Kid Hungry’s Influencer Council. Their volunteer efforts as members of the council include raising awareness about the 1in 6 children in the U.S. who struggle with hunger and the organization’s work to end childhood hunger in America. In January, the Pences visited a Houston-area elementary school with No Kid Hungry to see how innovative breakfast solutions are reaching more children in need, and they joined students in a classroom to talk about the importance of eating healthy food. The Giants outfielder is excited about the opportunity to share his passion for healthy eating with children through fun and interactive nutrition education experiences in the Bay Area and The Garden at AT&T Park.

Pence’s goal is to raise funds for one million meals through his Pledge It campaign. Meeting the goal will be made possible by the support of fans who make their own pledge. Fans who join the campaign will be eligible for rewards such as autographed items, game tickets, meet and greets, and on-field experiences.
