Rays’ prospect Carson Williams wins Rawlings MiLB Gold Glove Award

Carson Williams, the Tampa Bay Rays’ 2021 top draft pick at shortstop, was awarded the MiLB Rawlings Gold Glove Award® for being the best defender at his position across all levels of the minor leagues. Additionally, he was named the Rays organization’s top defender in their annual minor league awards. Williams, who began the season at 18 years old, played 108 games with low-A Charleston, handling 401 total chances, turning 59 double plays, and making 252 assists. He was recently ranked as the No. 4 prospect in the Rays system by Baseball America.
